Floor area is only one question
An Italian Greyhound does not need a palace-sized flat. What happens beyond the front door matters more: predictable walks, safe movement and time with people. A small home with a good routine can be more comfortable than a large one where the dog is lonely and understimulated. Check the floors: if paws slide on smooth surfaces, add non-slip rugs along common routes.
A place to truly rest
One bed in a calm spot is more useful than several in busy walkways. Give the dog a place to withdraw from noise and sleep undisturbed. Avoid strong heat sources and persistent draughts. A blanket may become part of a favourite corner; check for loops or damage that could catch nails. Its familiar smell is especially comforting after travel or visitors.
Activity fits indoors too
Five minutes of finding treats, a simple attention exercise or a calm introduction to a new object can brighten the day. Avoid turning a room into an obstacle course with slippery turns and furniture jumps. Short activities that can end successfully work better. Leave time to rest afterwards; excitement does not always mean the dog needs another game.
Design the doorway routine
Keep the leash, a towel and one season-appropriate garment near the door. On returning, dry paws and damp clothing before putting gear away. It is a small habit that saves effort through wet weeks. When each piece has a place, getting out is calmer and the coat does not vanish precisely when it is needed.
