The doorbell
The box had not reached the table before a long nose investigated its lower corner. Inside was a paper packaging mock-up and a fabric sample for a future collection. This was a working idea, not a customer order. The dog had already decided quality control began with sniffing.
What belongs inside
The human wants a beautiful box. The dog does not care about the logo colour; the garment must fit at the chest and allow a normal walk. We kept both thoughts. One day the packaging may become real; the fit needs attention even earlier.
The long-nose inspection report
The paper sample survived inspection but not an attempt to lie on it. A corner developed a crease. I was about to smooth it for a photograph when the dog arrived from the hallway with her ordinary lead. Packaging assessment was over.
We put ribbons and small parts away, set the fabric aside and went out. Outside, I caught myself still thinking about the box. The dog was thinking about the bush near the entrance. Her questions concerned the actual day.
Back home I wrote in my notebook: “Include clear measurements and care information.” The attractive sticker remained on the list, but lower down. A good parcel should still help after the unwrapping.
This is an invented scene about future packaging, not an account of a fulfilled customer order. The principle is practical nevertheless: a comfortable garment, understandable sizing and an accurate description come first; lovely wrapping follows.
